The beautiful movie sets designed by the one and only, Nancy Meyers, have been inspiring me for quite some time. Recently, I’ve watched several of the movies she’s famous for producing, including It’s Complicated, Home Again, Somethings Gotta Give and The Holiday to name a few.
When I have my own home, my main goal is for people to walk in and say “I feel like I’m in a Nancy Meyers movie set”. That is the ultimate goal! With that said, I put this inspiration to use and designed a living room space that hopefully feels very ‘Nancy Meyers’.
Lets break down the room a bit …
- Style: Clean lines with a healthy mix of traditional, modern and Mediterranean influences.
- Concept: Neutral layers with texture and pops of color.
- Favorite Part: I have to say, I love the piece of art I chose for this room. It offers the perfect pop of color the space needs but isn’t too much on the eye. Plus, it’s by one of my favorite artists, Kayce Hughes!
Overall, although this design is simple, it still has layers of texture and color. The easiest way to add color (that can always be changed) is through pillows! I’m all about small changes that make a big impact.
Happy Friday, everyone!
