It’s a design challenge  hosted by Linda from Calling It Home that happens twice a year (April & October). 20 design bloggers take the challenge and transform a space in a 6 week time frame. Each week, they update their progress with photos – it’s so fun to follow along! I loved everyones reveals this season but I would have to say, this one is my FAVORITE! There are so many aspects of this room I just love. If you head to the ‘reveal post’ on their blog, you’ll see some before shots that show how much work went into transforming this space. Below are my favorite parts of this room & why:

  1. The Built-Ins: I love the type of wood (really raw and organic looking) they used for the shelving and the shiplap on each accent wall! It’s simple yet so perfect for this room.
  2. The Shelf Styling: When shelving is styled to perfection, like these here, that just warms my heart. I love the mix of materials, the balance of each shelf and the fun personal trinkets throughout.
  3. The Mantel: A mantel done right is a beautiful thing. The oversized vase is perfectly balanced with the smaller vases and the simple mirror.
  4. The Color Palette: Ahhh my favorite part. This color palette just speaks to me for so many reasons. There is just so much you can do as a designer when working with a neutral palette. Switching around art and accessories becomes really easy. It also just creates a serene, calming space for you and your guests.

I definitely recommend checking all of the ORC reveals, so many projects to swoon over. The before and after shots are also really fun to see. I’ve included a concept board below so you can easily create something similar in your own home, enjoy!
